Peking Robin is a ten-year-old Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred mare.
Robin’s bloodlines include the ever famous Northern Dancer, Nasrullah, BullDog, Man O’War, Polynesian, War Admiral and Nijinsky lines. She also has classic sporthorse lines such as Turn-To, Flower Bowl, Sabzy, Menow and Queen of Simla.
Robin is out of Lark in the Meadow who won $66350.00 in earnings from her four and five year old racing years. Lark in the Meadow has produced several other successful racers, including Courageous Maiden who won $43,070.00 as a three year old. Robin’s sire, Sea Hero is well known both in and out of racing circles. Sea Hero was the 1993 Kentucky Derby winner, with a time of two minutes and 2.4 seconds. He won nearly $3,000,000 before retiring to stud to produce at least twelve stake winners in North America, including Dominican Republic horse of the year, Classy Sailor, Hero’s Tribute, Cindy’s Hero, Crystal Sea, John Paul Too and Desert Hero. Sea Hero is known to produce dams of winning horses.
Sea Hero has been known to produce successful horses outside of traditional racing circles. Robin’s half-brother, Sea Accounts by Sea Hero was the second highest scoring Thoroughbred stallion in the history of the 100-day test. He earned a score of eight on both character and temperament and a nine on the cross-country section of the test. Sea Accounts is approved for RPSI Book I, receiving a nine on his conformation. He is jumping 3′9” courses under saddle and recently won his eventing debut at Greenwood Fall Horse Trials. Robin shares Sea Accounts classic Thoroughbred conformation, with straight thick legs, a nicely shaped head with soft eyes, good substantial hooves and the height and athleticism to compete in sport.
Prussian Blue, a half-brother to Sea Hero has earned quite a reputation in the sporthorse field as well. Prussian Blue was recognized as a turf performer, winning long-distance stakes and allowances both in the United States and Europe. This incredible endurance has carried over to the eventing world, just as his classic elegance has crossed into hunter/jumper circuits.
Peking Robin has so far produced two Thoroughbred foals that should begin their racing careers shortly.
Robin is with her new owner in Colorado.
