Congratulations to teamwork dressage at JILBA in Catharpin, VA for their recent purchase of Lady Longchamp and her two babies, Wiona and Dona.  All three horses are certain to thrive under the care and training of Jules and Libby Anderson.  We all look forward to seeing these horses in competition.

Trey Swiger of Swiger Hoof Care was out last night to do trims on the horses.  He’s got a new website up and will be making more additions to the site as time goes on.  I’ve been using him for over five years and he’s the best blacksmith I’ve ever had.  I would recommend him to anyone.  He’s incredibly reliable, affordable, knowledgeable and very patient with the young horses.  He’s also done a fabulous job keeping our pony, who suffers with bouts of laminitis, comfortable and in good health.

Well, the weather is finally warming up and spring is right around the corner.  We took the goat family for a hike over the weekend.  They really seemed to enjoy their time on the trail.

Came across this really useful article put out by Tranquility Farms TB’s. Its about what to expect when bringing home your new ex-racer and how to introduce them to a more normal life. Good info.
